Nate:

“Did you know what? I haven’t had a hug.” (phrase borrowed from Daddy, actually)

“Excuse me, I’m talking to you.” (over and over until a response)
“Good morning, Daddy.” (instead of crying/yelling first thing in the a.m.)

Sam & Nate are really becoming playmates, now more than ever before. They’re starting to joke and tell stories of all kinds. A recent story by Sam involved a man who “broke” his hat, while Nate described a bird in the grass.

Everyone started back to school in the middle of August. Originally, Sam and Nate were in separate classrooms, but after discussing the situation with the Preschool Director, we decided to put them in the same classroom--now they're both in the older 3's/early 4's classroom (the Dragonflies), which means that they'll both have the same daytime schedule and cover the same material at the same pace. Maybe next year we can try to have separate 4 year old classes. (sniff-sniff...what big boys they are!).

We still enjoy the playground just across the street from our house. Nate and Sam have mastered their tricycles, know how to watch for cars, and practice how to stop. They’re adorable in their Lightning McQueen helmets and love to ring the bell on the handlebar. They're asking for bikes for Christmas!

Since we started back to school, we’ve had another new experience: T Kids, which is like AWANA programs for kids. On Wednesday night, the boys go to T Kids at Northwood, while we enjoy fellowship in a home group about a mile from Northwood. We’ve connected with two other couples, and Sam & Nate have enjoyed time with church friends other than at Sunday School. One of those friends happens to be the son of our home group leaders. We’re so proud of the boys for learning memory verses each week. Here are some favorites they’ve memorized thus far:
