Sam loves to talk about the future, including detailed plans regarding his own family. “When I get big…Eva [friend from school, proclaimed future wife] and I will have three sons, Ruder, Ruden, and Seresen. We’ll live in a blue house in Austin.”

Nate:

“Why do I have to poop in the potty all the time?”
“I’m tired. I really am.”
“It is delicious. It really is.”
“You’re not even…”

“I winded [won].”

Nate loves knock-knock jokes. Here are a few samples:

Nate: Knock, knock.
Mom: Who’s there?
Nate: Tee.
Mom: Tee who?
Nate: I’m a rodeo cowboy.

Nate: Knock, knock.
Mom: Who’s there?
Nate: Hey.
Mom: Hey who?
Nate: Hey, I tooted in my underwear [erupts in laughter and glee].

Sam & Nate enjoyed their 4th birthday in early February! The theme was Wild Kratts, which is their favorite cartoon on PBS. We joined several friends at the Bob Jones Nature Center in Southlake—such a fun adventure for everyone!

Sam & Nate started playing soccer in late February. They’ve had three practice sessions and one game so far. So far, the girls on the team are the most tenacious and attentive to Coach Dustin’s instruction.

Sam & Nate love singing throughout the day, and Sam is even honing his vibrato. A long-standing favorite now is Josh Groban’s “Believe,” the song at the end of the Polar Express. Of course, they make up the lyrics, just like their Mom.

Sam clearly enjoys building with Legos and Trio blocks and just about anything else. Nate loves dramatic play, and his figurines and/or cars carry on conversations with one another.

A new favorite movie is Mary Poppins. They love “Step in Time” and “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” most of all. Nate requests to watch a specific scene: “the part when that little tiny boy gets dirty in the mailbox [chimney].”
